Welcome to iaff2879 , home of the Ocean City Wright Professional Firefighters Association. This website was designed to keep members of Local 2879 and the citizens we swore to protect informed about their Fire Rescue Service.  The Union Firefighters of Local 2879 care deeply about the level of service provided to our citizens. We believe that the current needs of our taxpayers are best served by instituting Paramedic level care district wide. With the assistance of our supporting Fire Commissioners, we will lead the charge to ensure that ALS care is attained as rapidly as possible.  I want to thank all of those who have stopped by and visited our site. Recently, I have been receiving alot of requests for access to register in the members area. This area is reserved for Union Paying Dues Members of Local 2879.  In this area we discuss 2879 issues to include;  secure voting on contractual information, message boards and confidential issues among Local 2879 employees of this Fire Rescue organization. Please continue to browse the rest of the website and thanks for stopping by.

Save our Services

Possible Consequences of Tax reductions to Florida Emergency Services as proposed by the House of Representatives. - Loss of firefighters would create ISO increases in Florda's Fire Services and would make insurance costs go up. -Local mutual and automatic aid agreements would suffer because of manning issues. -Hurricane response and recovery will be hampered. -Brush Fires that threaten the State may not have as many responders. -Local entities may find alternatitive funding methods which will cost taxpayers more. -Pre-hospital care will be reduced because of closing Fire and EMS stations. -USAR teams could be reduced because of manning issues. We would need to rely on out of State USAR teams. Please click on Logo to express your concerns!
